In 1967, Michael W. Evans opened an insurance agency after previously working for an underwriter at a large national carrier. In 1972, he then purchased the Fred C. Leonard agency in Hartford, and relocated to East Hartford in 1975, until moving to the current location on Roberts Street in 1986. In 1998, Peter Pires joined the agency, which became known as Evans, Pires & Leonard.

Over time, Michael’s children have joined the agency: first his daughter Marnie, followed by sons Mike Jr., Tim and Kevin and lastly son-in-law Mike Piergallini. Ownership of the agency has transitioned to the second generation, who have the same commitment as their father in continuing the tradition of delivering best in coverage, price and service to our clients.
